Experience a transformative wellness and spirituality journey through the Peruvian Andes, blending mindful trekking with deep connection to nature and the ancestral energy of this sacred land. The experience invites you to slow down, reconnect, and immerse yourself in one of the world’s most powerful mountain landscapes on the way to Machu Picchu.

The route follows an off-the-beaten-path trail across the Andes, passing highland lagoons, mountain passes, and remote valleys such as Yanacocha Lagoon, Puma Pata, Kinsa Cruz Pass, Ancascocha Lake, and Camicancha, before reaching Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu. Far from crowded routes, it offers a more intimate encounter with nature and local culture, ending at the iconic Inca citadel.

The journey is fully supported and carefully paced, combining trekking, camping in remote locations, nourishing meals, and all logistics arranged. It balances physical challenge with comfort, while including moments of cultural and spiritual connection, and concludes with a guided visit to Machu Picchu before returning to Cusco.

I was born in the tiny Indigenous community of Chillipahua, far from the city of Cusco. My father, mule driver Ignacio, was and continues to be a great example for me, we both share a passion for preserving the local cultural and natural environment and creating beautiful experiences for visitors to the area.

I studied tourism in the city of Cusco, mastered the English language and worked as a tour guide at several respected tourist agencies in Cusco. During the time I worked for other tour providers, I saw how the services could be more personalized and how much visitors wanted to get really close to the indigenous people and their culture, a desire that was often not met by the tours and experiences they were offered. This is what motivated me to set up my company in 2018, and since then, feedback from clients confirms that we have been consistently meeting or exceeding visitors’ expectations.

Route details

Day 1
Into the High Andes Wilderness

Your journey begins early in the morning with a scenic drive from Cusco or Urubamba to the starting point at Yanacocha Lagoon, set high in the mountains at 4,572 m (15,000 ft). Here, you’ll meet the mule team and begin your hike with a gentle uphill walk, followed by a short descent to ease into the rhythm of the trail.

Surrounded by untouched landscapes where llamas, alpacas, and condors roam freely, you’ll quickly feel immersed in the raw beauty of the Andes. Around midday, you’ll pause for a nourishing lunch at Amarupata (4,400 m / 14,437 ft), prepared with fresh organic ingredients and enjoyed with views of Mount Moyuc.

After lunch, the trail continues with a 30-minute ascent to your first mountain pass, Kinsa Cruz (4,700 m / 15,748 ft), offering sweeping views over rugged peaks and vast highland valleys. From there, a further 1.5-hour hike leads you to your campsite, where you’ll unwind and enjoy dinner in this remote and peaceful setting.
